Privacy Policy
What We Collect
We collect only what we need to operate the program, evaluate its impact, and respond to inquiries:
A) Program participants (basic information):
Contact details (e.g., name, email address).
General location (city/region) and preferred communication method.
Optional program-related responses you submit (e.g., interest forms, surveys, feedback).
Technical information collected automatically (e.g., IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, timestamps, cookies or similar technologies for essential site functionality and basic analytics).
B) Possible partners & facilitators (more detailed information):
Contact and organizational details (name, role/title, organization, email, phone, mailing address if provided).
Background relevant to collaboration or facilitation (areas of expertise, credentials or training information you choose to share, availability, program delivery preferences).
Administrative details as needed (e.g., agreements, onboarding documentation, and—if applicable—payment or invoicing details processed through secure third-party services). We do not store full payment card numbers on this Site.
Why We Collect It (uses of information)
To operate and improve The CONNECT Program and this Site.
To respond to inquiries, schedule sessions, manage participation, and coordinate with partners and facilitators.
To evaluate and report on program reach and effectiveness (using de‑identified or aggregated data whenever possible).
To secure password‑protected resources for facilitators and community organizations.
To comply with applicable law, university policies, and research ethics requirements.
Legal Basis & Consent (Canada)
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable Canadian privacy laws (including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable to the University, provincial access and privacy legislation). You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
Cookies & Analytics
We use essential cookies to keep the Site working (e.g., security, session management) and may use basic analytics to understand Site usage in aggregate. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality.
Sharing Your Information
We limit disclosures to what is necessary:
Within the University of Manitoba: With authorized team members and units supporting The CONNECT Program.
Service providers: Third parties that host the Site, provide analytics, email, forms, secure file delivery, or payment processing. These providers are contractually required to protect information and use it only for our instructions.
Research & evaluation: If information is used for research, it will follow approved research ethics protocols. Where possible, we de‑identify or aggregate data.
Legal: When required or permitted by law, regulation, subpoena, or university policy (e.g., to protect security or integrity).
Storage, Retention & Security
We store information in Canada or in jurisdictions where our service providers operate. When information is transferred outside your province or Canada, it may be subject to foreign laws.
We retain information only as long as necessary for program and legal requirements, and then securely delete or de‑identify it.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your Choices & Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
Request access to or correction of your personal information.
Withdraw consent to future collection, use, or disclosure (where consent is the basis).
Ask questions or make a privacy complaint.

Password‑Protected Materials (facilitators & community organizations)
Certain pages are restricted to approved facilitators and community organizations. Access credentials are personal. Do not share your password or materials with anyone outside your authorized organization.
Downloadable resources are provided solely to support delivery of The CONNECT Program. Unless a resource explicitly states otherwise, you may not copy, modify, distribute, repost, or create derivative works, and you may not remove copyright or attribution notices.
We may monitor access for security, revoke access for misuse, and update or remove materials at any time.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Interfere with Site security or attempt to gain unauthorized access.
Upload or transmit malicious code or engage in activities that disrupt the Site.
Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights.
Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
